The journey to becoming the best version of yourself
Season 1 – Chapter 2 – The Guide – Article 3 of 5
From the quality you choose to the symbol that accompanies you
There are times when we feel the need to draw on a specific quality: the courage needed to make a decision, the calm required to face a change, the confidence to start something new, or the clarity to recognize the direction we should take.
Once we’ve identified this quality, we can choose a symbol that evokes it in our daily lives. A guiding piece of Jewellery is born precisely from this convergence: a personal choice, the meaning of the stones, and the moment we decide to wear it.
It is not the piece of jewellery that determines our path. It is we who imbue it with meaning and transform it into a visible reminder of what we wish to cultivate.
What is a “guide jewel”?
A guiding piece of jewellery is a creation that we choose to associate with one or more qualities that are important to our journey.
It can serve as a daily reminder, a symbol to wear during a significant transition, or a personal item to use when we want to regain focus, stability, or confidence.
Its value does not depend solely on its form or beauty. It stems above all from the relationship we build with it: from the reason we choose it, the meaning we ascribe to it, and the actions we decide to associate with it.
First criterion: the qualities you want to cultivate
The first step isn’t to immediately start looking for a necklace, bracelet, or other piece of jewellery.
It’s more helpful to start with the qualities you’ve already recognized as important.
You may want to cultivate just one or more than one. Courage and stability, for example, can support each other. Calmness and clarity can help you approach a decision with greater presence. Confidence and determination can guide you as you begin a new project.
Try asking yourself:
- What qualities have I already chosen for my journey?
- Which ones do I need most right now?
- Which ones would I like to keep in mind in my daily actions?
The answers serve as a starting point to help you navigate through stones, meanings, and creations.
Second criterion: the meaning of the stones
In the symbolic language of Gemme Sogni, each stone is associated with different qualities and directions.
The Tiger’s Eye evokes courage, determination, and confidence. Amethyst is associated with calm, serenity, and balance.
Rock Crystal evokes clarity and awareness, while Hematite evokes stability, strength, and grounding.
A stone, however, should not be reduced to a single word.
It can possess multiple qualities and take on a different meaning depending on the other stones in the jewellery piece.
That is why it is important to consider the entirety of creation.
Jewellery made up of multiple stones can bring out the best in different qualities and meet more complex needs.
Three examples of guiding jewellery pieces
Algol: Stability, Security, and Clarity
The Algol necklace features white and black agate, hematite, and cat’s eye.
Hematite evokes stability, practicality and a sense of grounding. Together with the other stones in the piece, it helps create a piece of jewellery symbolically linked to protection, security, and the ability to stay centred during times of change or when making important decisions.
Algol can be chosen when we want to approach a situation with greater clarity, without losing sight of what is essential to us.
Sadalsuud: Clarity, Calm, and Awareness
The Sadalsuud necklace combines rock crystal, amethyst, moonstone and white baroque pearl.
Rock Crystal evokes clarity and awareness. Amethyst brings calm, balance, and introspection. Moonstone and Baroque Pearl complete the composition with meanings associated with sensitivity, listening, and authenticity.
Sadalsuud can help us in those moments when we want to organize our thoughts, listen to our intuition, or make a decision with greater peace of mind.
Algieba: Courage, Determination, and Stability
The Algieba necklace is made of green garnet, tiger’s eye, fluorite, and hematite.
Tiger’s Eye evokes courage, determination, and confidence. Fluorite is associated with clarity, while hematite adds stability and grounding. Green garnet completes the set, evoking vitality and renewal.
Algieba can become the symbol of an action that requires strength, clarity, and presence: starting a project, facing a challenge, or making a decision that has been put off for a long time.
Third criterion: when you want to wear it
The same person can choose different pieces of jewellery for different occasions. It’s not necessary to find a single piece of jewellery that will be with us forever.
We can wear one in our daily lives, choose another for work, or carry a special piece with us during a time of change, an important decision, or a personal ritual.
Ask yourself:
- When do I want to feel supported?
- Do I want to wear this piece of jewellery every day or on special occasions?
- What specific action do I want to associate with it?
- What would I like to remember when I look at it or touch it?
The occasion on which it is worn helps give the piece of jewellery personal significance.
Wearing it before a meeting, during a busy day, or when we’re making a decision can turn it into a reminder of the quality we’ve chosen.
One or more guiding pieces of jewellery?
We can have more than one guiding piece because our lives don’t always present us with the same needs.
One piece of jewellery can give you the courage you need to take action. Another can remind you to slow down and find calm. A third may be associated with clarity, confidence, or stability.
Choosing more pieces of jewellery doesn’t mean their meaning is any less important. It means recognizing that we are evolving as people and that each stage of our journey may call for a different form of symbolic support.
A simple way to choose
Before you make your choice, take a few minutes to complete these three sentences:
- The quality or qualities I want to cultivate are…
- The stones and their meanings that resonate most with me are…
- The moment when I want to wear this piece of jewellery is…
At this point, take a look at the different designs without focusing solely on the one that appeals to you aesthetically. Consider the stones, how they’re combined, and how the piece of Jewellery might fit into your daily life.
The best choice isn’t necessarily the most obvious one. It’s the one in which you recognize a connection between your intention, the meaning of creation, and the moment you’re experiencing.
Find your Guiding Jewellery
Guiding Jewellery does not replace our decisions or walk the path for us. It can, however, remind us of the direction we have chosen and refocus our attention on the qualities we wish to express.
Quality, meaning, and the occasion for use are the three elements that help you find a creation that can truly become personal.
